BL3000-EX Explosion-Proof Wi-Fi 6 Industrial Base Station for Hazardous Sites

BL3000-EX explosion-proof Wi-Fi 6 industrial base station.

Why Hazardous Industrial Sites Need Purpose-Built Wireless Equipment

Oil and gas, petrochemical, mining and energy sites increasingly depend on wireless connections for video, equipment data, inspection and unmanned operations. Also, these environments combine demanding traffic with temperature variation, dust, vibration and electrical risks, so ordinary indoor networking hardware may not be appropriate.
Sailsky introduced the BL3000-EX as an explosion-proof industrial Wi-Fi 6 base station for these conditions. However, the product uses the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and a domestic Wi-Fi 6 platform architecture. Its design combines wireless transmission, industrial protection and several networking modes for hazardous industrial applications.

Explosion-Proof Wi-Fi 6 Radio Performance

The BL3000-EX supports concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation, with a combined wireless rate up to 3000 Mbps.
On 5 GHz, it supports 20, 40, 80 and 160 MHz channel widths and a stated maximum rate of 2400 Mbps. Therefore, on 2.4 GHz, it supports 20 and 40 MHz channel widths and a stated maximum rate of 574 Mbps. A Gigabit Ethernet interface integrates wired and wireless transmission.
These capabilities support applications such as HD video, equipment data collection and robot inspection. For this reason, actual throughput and usable channel width depend on clients, spectrum rules, interference, antenna design and site conditions . Teams should verify performance during commissioning.

Industrial Protection and Power Design

The stated operating-temperature range is -40°C to 75°C. Meanwhile, the unit supports Chinese-standard 48 V PoE power and includes reverse-polarity and overvoltage protection, together with multiple power and port protection mechanisms.
The enclosure measures 319 × 207 × 97 mm. Also, its strengthened industrial structure aims to withstand installation and vibration conditions associated with industrial sites. The detailed hazardous-area certification and zone suitability teams must check against the product certificate and the specific project before installation.

External Antennas and Deployment Flexibility

N-type RF connectors allow the base station to use directional or omnidirectional external antennas. However, this lets an integrator adapt coverage to a corridor, open yard, processing area or other site geometry. RF designers must include antenna gain, cable loss, mounting height and permitted transmit power in the RF design rather than selected independently.

Router, AP and Mesh Operating Modes

The BL3000-EX supports Router, AP and Mesh modes. In addition, these options allow it to serve different parts of an industrial wireless architecture and simplify expansion. In this setting, the selected mode is suitable for the application.
The source article also describes millisecond-level fast roaming when the base station works with a Sailsky BL5000Air industrial wireless client. Therefore, teams must test the exact handover result with the intended traffic, controller settings and route before project acceptance.

Industrial Applications

Sailsky positions the BL3000-EX for wireless communications in petrochemical plants, refinery equipment inspection, industrial robots, HD video monitoring, unmanned operations and smart-mine networks.
A deployment should begin with the hazardous-area classification, radio survey, traffic model, client list, power and backhaul plan. Meanwhile, these inputs determine enclosure certification, antenna placement, AP spacing and acceptance tests.

Planning a BL3000-EX Project

Provide the site layout, hazardous-zone requirements, temperature range, mounting locations, antenna constraints, client count, traffic types and available backhaul. Also, sailsky and the project integrator can then match the base station configuration to the actual environment without relying on an unverified universal coverage distance.
